We love life!

Last Sunday we dedicated our little girl to the Lord! We love her so much and are blessed with such great children! The service was done by Dr. Inzer- one of the elders at our church. He also delivered her when she was born! So it was special to have him help us give her back to the Lord.

Mountain Top Experiences

So today I was reading Matthew 17:1-13...And I was enlightened so I thought I'd share it with you! When Peter says to Jesus 'Lord, I will put up three shelters...' And Jesus' response didn't make sense to me at first- He says 'the Son of Man is going to suffer...' What crazy timing to tell them this! But this is what God showed me...They were on the top of the mountain and had an amazing encounter with God. So much so they wanted to stay there! And on the way down He tells them He's gonna suffer. God really spoke to me and told me that He gives us mountain top experiences so that we will be able to cling to those to make it through the bottom of the mountain times! I sit here with tears realizing that no matter how discouraged you may be or how far away God may seem or even how much you just want to quit - you can remember the times when He was so near to you it felt like He was sitting right there with you, the times when you are in His presence and there is such joy, the times when all is well and you feel like you can conquer the world. Thank God that He gives us those times so that we can make it through the rough times! Be encouraged today friends! There is a time coming when you will start up that mountain again! Wow! What a word from God directly to me! I hope in sharing this
with you that you can be encouraged as well!
What an amazing God we have!

My God is ALIVE!

So the Easter Season has come and gone! But I am so very thankful for what my God did for me. To think about the pain that He endured just so I could eventually be with Him again- wow! And to know that my sins past, present and future are already forgiven! To know that He loves to give me good gifts and cares even about the little things that concern me. He cares so much that He even counts my hair and my tears. To know that He feels my pain and longs to be with me all the time. WOW! What an awesome, crazy, funny, romantic, loving God I have! I could go on forever describing how much my God means to me, but I think the point has been proven! He is such a GREAT God!
Are they not the cutest kids ever? Gosh I love them so much!

Grandma and Grandpa came to town!

So the past 10 days have been filled with lots of fun and memorable happenings! My parents came into town for Easter and then stayed an extra weekend so we could have Emory dedicated while they were here... so I thought I'd share a few special moments we had together!

Gavin just loved wrestling, going for walks, coloring chalk, riding his bike, playdough O and whatever else he could get his GrandMA's to do...he doesn't get that one is GrandMA and one is GrandPA! So he called them both GrandMA! hee hee, it drove my dad nuts! lol

And yep, I took this picture!
And I must say I think I have the cutest kids in the world! hee hee

We did so many other fun things together as well but these were the best! We had so much fun visiting with Grandma and Grandpa!

Super Savings Today!

So I'm so excited about my savings trip to Target today that I have just got to share it with you! lol
I got four boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats for $10....well that was the sale, but then I had two coupons I could use and also part of the sale was you get a $5 giftcard when you bought 4 boxes! So then I turned around and used two coupons on a pack of diapers and the $5 giftcard and thus bought 4 boxes of cereal and a jumbo pack of diapers all for a whopping $9!
O and I forgot to add the toothpaste deal I got at Walgreens.....a tube of Colgate toothpaste for $2.99 and got back $3.99 in Walgreens bucks! So pretty much they gave me a dollar to buy the toothpaste! I felt so good leaving that store this morning! LOL

'Mother' God!

So today as I sit here wondering what to write, my heart is so heavy. Recently I've been bombarded with sadness all around me. Not even things that have happened to me but to people in my life. These things have lead me to the conclusion that I hate the devil! He makes me so angry with how he toys with peoples minds and twists things and robs them of so much. But having to face all these things have really made me start to pray more. Pray more for those in my life as well as my own family - my husband and my kiddos. You know it's so awesome being a mom! It really does show you the 'mother' heart of God. What does that mean? Well, God created man and woman and then He said they were perfectly made in His image. So together they both portray who He is. Since becoming a mom, I realize so much more about Him. His heart is so full of love for us! Nothing we can do will change His love for us! As well as when we are hurting how badly He wants to wipe our tears and make it all go away. I sit here so moved by just those thoughts! Because as a mother I have felt all of those things pretty much every day! No matter how many times my son pees in his undies, or how much my daughter cries- I still love them so much and what they do will never change that! And all it takes is just one precious smile or a 'I wuv you mommy' to melt my heart!  And it's the same way with God! No matter what I do- good or bad- His love will never change for me. Wow that is so stinkin' amazing! No wonder I'm so in love with my Daddy God! What an amazing God He is!

A little Challenge!

So for the last few months God has been showing me a few things.... Due to having two kids now I have to wake up really early and go get our groceries before the day gets started. Or I take both kiddos with me, and well if you haven't heard what happened the first and last time I did that, ask me in person! LOL
Anyhow, He has been convicting me of complaining about that. I speak so highly of the Proverbs 31 woman and yet when I am following her example ("She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family...) I complain and want sympathy! Yikes! Needless to say, I no longer complain but I truly do find joy in going and preparing for my family. The other part is couponing! Yes, I have joined those 'crazy' ladies! I said I wouldn't but after rereading Proverbs 31 I think that this is a biblical thing that as a godly wife/mother I should do. And the weird thing is, I enjoy it! I find myself getting so excited when I leave a store and have saved more than I spent! It's addicting because I'm always trying to beat my savings each week!
Anyhow, say all that to say, I challenge you as a woman of God to reread Proverbs 31 and to ask Him what it is He'd like to show you about your life these days! Beware that change might be ahead!
